MANILA, Philippines—FC Tokyo and Marck Espejo once again got the better of Oita Miyoshi and Bryan Bagunas as they came away with another sweep, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23, in the 2021-22 Japan V.League season Saturday at Showa Denko Martial Arts Sports Center.

The victory was FC Tokyo’s second straight as they improved to 2-6 while the Weisse Adler dropped their seventh straight match for a 1-7 card.

Jonas Kvalen had 18 points to lead FC Tokyo, who are now the seventh seed in the standings, while Espejo added 11 points.

Kenta Koga finished with 11 points for Oita Miyoshi with Bagunas tallying just one point in the contest.

Saitama, meanwhile, dropped its fourth match in five matches losing to second seed Hisamitsu, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21, in the women’s division at Panasonic Arena.

The Ageo Medics have now slid to a 3-4 record at the seventh seed while the Springs are at 6-1.

Miyuki Nakagawa and Asuka Hamamatsu led the Springs with 12 points apiece while Yuki Ishii added 11 points.

Yuka Sato, Mami Uchiseto, and Kyoko Aoyagi had nine points each to lead Saitama while Jaja Santiago had seven points.
