Lady Bulldogs nurse slim semis hopes

NATIONAL University fanned its slim semifinal hopes as Dindin Santiago tossed in 29 points in powering the Lady Bulldogs past Adamson, 29-27, 25-20, 25-23, in the Shakey’s V-League on Thursday night at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

Santiago recorded a notable 52-percent clip on attacks (26-of-50) to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a share of sixth at 1-4. The loss took the Lady Falcons out of further semifinal contention.

Myla Pablo backed Santiago with 12 points.

For the Lady Bulldogs to advance to the Final Four, they need to sweep their last two games and hope two other teams fail to reach three wins.

Ateneo already claimed the first semifinal berth with a perfect 6-0 slate, while University of Santo Tomas has virtually clinched the second spot with a 4-0 card.

Also on track is Perpetual Help (3-1), while San Sebastian (2-2), University of St. La Salle-Bacolod (2-4) and Far Eastern University (1-4) all remain in contention.
