Luig, Zulberti snare 2nd kart series wins

CARL Luig and Tai Zulberti logged their second straight victories in the second leg of the 2012 Philippine National Karting Series held recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Luig also upstaged the Expert drivers in the combined race to claim his second win in the Formula SL Novice class, besting Raymond Cudala and Carlos Lorenzo.

He finished fourth in the qualifying heat and was second in the Pre-Finals behind AUTS Racing teammate and Expert division racer Yvana Carangan, who eventually copped the Formula SL Expert crown.

Zulberti pipped Dylan Arambulo to claim another triumph in the Formula Cadet Expert class.

Zulberti and Arambulo went neck-and-neck in all three races, with Arambulo ruling the qualifying heat and Zulberti getting his revenge in the Pre-Final.

Their duel continued in the eight-lap Final race but Zulberti pulled through with a time of 12 minute, 46.107 seconds, 0.076 of a second ahead of Arambulo.

Luigi Lachica also clinched his second straight win in the Formula Cadet Novice class while Flynn Jackes copped the Mini-ROK title. Steve Silva, Contributor
