Thirdy Ravena suspended, fined by San-En for damaging signboard in loss to Toyama
MANILA, Philippines — Already struggling, San-En will be without its key cog in Thirdy Ravena for the next two games.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the NeoPhoenix suspended the Filipino star for “damaging the sponsor signboard” in a 90-89 loss to the Toyama Grouses in an away game on Sunday.
The 24-year-old guard, who will miss San-En’s back-to-back games against Seahorses Mikawa on December 4 and 5, was also fined 100,000 yen (around P44,000) as part of the disciplinary action.
“We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to Toyama Grouses, Toyama Grouses partner companies, and all concerned,” the club said.

“It is unforgivable as a professional player that Thirdy Ravena hit the Toyama Grouses official partner board and partially damaged it after the match on Sunday,” the statement read.
Ravena was visibly frustrated after missing what could’ve been the game-tying free throw with 0.6 tenths of a second left against the Grouses.
The crucial miss spoiled a big night by Ravena, who finished with a game-high 26 points that went with nine rebounds, five assists and three steals as San-En dropped its sixth straight setback.
San-En is currently 19th in a 22-team field with a 3-11 record.
