Rodriguez-Eslapor duo bag PH’s lone win in day 2 of AVC beach volleyball
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines settled for subpar results in the second day of the 2021 AVC Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships winning just one in four matches Wednesday in Phuket, Thailand.
Dij Rodriguez and Gen Eslapor, who played as Philippines 2, took the country’s lone win of the day after beating Sri Lanka 2’s Madegarda Bandara and Hashini Manis Hewage, 22-20, 21-12, in their second match.

Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons went blank in the second day of the tournament as they lost to Japan 3’s Shiba Asami and Nishibori Takemi, 13-21, 22-20, 15-12, in their first match.
Article continues after this advertisementPhilippines 1 then dropped their second match against Thailand 2’s Taravadee Naraphornrapat and Worapeerachayakorn Kongphopsarutawadee, 21-9, 21-14.
Rondina and Pons hold a 1-2 record for third place in Pool D while Rodriguez and Eslapor are also at 1-2 and hold the fourth seed of Pool A.
