MANILA, Philippines–Simon Camacho was signed by Phoenix Fuel Masters in the PBA after being named Most Valuable Player in the recently concluded Filbasket tournament.
The Fuel Masters officially welcomed the former Adamson player to their roster on Friday, posting a photo of Camacho with team manager Paolo Bugia and coach Topex Robinson.
Article continues after this advertisementCamacho was picked by TNT in the third round of the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft but was unable to secure a contract.
He played for Bacolod Masters in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, which took a two year break due to the pandemic.
At Filbasket, Camacho led Medical Depot to the quarterfinals where the team was knocked out by San Juan Knights.
He averaged 14.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists to get the MVP honors.
