MANILA, Philippines—Toyama and Dwight Ramos saw their winning streak get snapped after bowing to Ryukyu, 91-66, in the West Conference of the 2021-22 Japan B.League season Saturday at Okinawa Arena.
The Grouses, winners of three straight, slid to a 4-11 record to stay in ninth place while the Golden Kings improved to a league-leading 12-3.
Ryukyu began to pull away in the second going on a 9-2 run that Jack Cooley capped off with a split from the free throw line for the 48-34 lead with 15 seconds left in the first half.
Former Meralco import Allan Durham then drilled two straight jumpers to put the Golden Kings up 66-40 at the 3:52 mark of the third.
Durham finished with a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Ryukyu while Kishimoto Ryuichi added 12 points and three steals.
Cooley, Koh Flippin, and Maki Hayato all had 11 points apiece to help the Golden Kings while Imamura Keita pitched in 10 points and six assists.
Brice Johnson finished with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Grouses while Ramos finished with six points, four rebounds, two assists, and one block.
