Meralco, Platinum, Terrafirma get headstart in PBA 3×3 Leg 4

MANILA, Philippines—Platinum Karaoke, Meralco, and Terrafirma ruled their respective groups as they went perfect in the first day of the PBA 3×3 Leg 4 preliminaries Saturday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Leg 2 runner-up Platinum compiled a flawless campaign after the first day in Pool A, taking wins over Limitless (20-12), Cavitex (21-13), and Leg 3 champion Sista (21-17) en route to locking up a spot in the quarterfinals.

The game between the Super Sealers and Platinum, however, didn’t end without any incident.

Platinum’s Chris de Chavez nailed the game-winner for his team but he absorbed a hard hit from De Vera just as he was making the field goal.

This led to de Chavez charging De Vera but the other players were able to pacify the situation while Prince Rivero laid on the court after hurting his left leg.

The Bolts, meanwhile, took care of their two games after taking down Pioneer (21-17) and Barangay Ginebra (21-16) to secure a spot in the knockout stage.

The Dyip also booked a spot in the next round following victories over Purefoods (18-15) and NorthPort (19-9).
