PBA: KJ McDaniels stars as NLEX stops Brandon Brown, San Miguel

MANILA, Philippines—KJ McDaniels led a balanced NLEX offense to upset San Miguel Beer, 114-102, in the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday night at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Road Warriors had six players in double figures led by KJ McDaniels’ 27 points while Kevin Alas nearly had a double-double with 12 points and eight assists.

NLEX started slow, trailing by as many as 11 points in the second quarter, before taking control in the second half.

The Road Warriors zoomed ahead in the third quarter, stretching their lead to 19 in the final frame after a basket by Don Trollano with 5:03 remaining.

Trollano provided 12 points off the bench.

NLEX overcame a 36-point performance from Brandon Brown.
