CJ Perez, San Miguel keep Blackwater winless

MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel Beer cruised to its second straight win, crushing Blackwater, 107-88, Saturday in the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup at Araneta Coliseum.

CJ Perez led six Beermen in double-digits with 21 points that went with six rebounds and four assists while Marcio Lassiter added 18 points and four steals.

The Beermen never trailed and led by as many as 25 to even their record at 2-2.

Vic Manuel tallied 16 points for San Miguel, won big despite only getting seven points from cornerstone June Mar Fajardo.

Fajardo, though, impacted the game in other ways with 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Paul Desidero led Blackwater with 16 points as the Bossing’s import Jaylen Bond struggled mightily with only nine points on 4-of-15 shooting from the field in 40 minutes.

Blackwater suffered its 23rd straight setback dating back to the 2020 Philippine Cup. The Bossing are 0-4 this conference.

Guards Terrence Romeo and Simon Enciso chipped in 13 points for San Miguel.
