MANILA, Philippines—Nagoya extended its winning streak to five after beating Toyama anew, 101-75, in the Japan B.League on Sunday at Dolphin’s Arena.
The Diamond Dolphins, who have won nine of their last 11 games, turned to their defense to smother the Grouses in the second half where they limited their opponents to under 20 points in the last two quarters.
Coty Clarke led Nagoya (14-7) with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Taito Nakahigashi was on target from deep with four triples for an 18-point outing.
Ray Parks, who had a 15-point game in the Dolphins’ 90-85 win over the Grouses on Saturday, scored 14 on top of six rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in close to 34 minutes of action.

Joshua Smith paced Toyama (7-14) wth 19 points as Dwight Ramos was limited to only two points on 1-of-7 shooting from the field.
Over at Ukaruchan Arena, Shiga failed to make it back-to-back after falling to Yokohama, 85-98.
Kiefer Ravena, the hero in the Lakestars’ 76-72 win over the B-Corsairs on Saturday, posted 22 points and eight assists in a losing effort.
Also on the loser’s circle was Thirdy Ravena’s San-En, which has now lost 13 in a row following a 75-86 defeat at the hands of Osaka.
Thirdy had 10 points, three rebounds and four assists for the NeoPhoenix, who are in 19th place in the standings with a 3-18 card.
