MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel continued to bounce back from its slow start to the conference, posting its third straight win at the expense of Terrafirma, 100-88, in the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen, who started 0-2, improved to a 3-2 record while sending the Dyip to there consecutive losses at 1-4.

Taking no time in asserting control, San Miguel raced to an early 27-18 at the end of the first and maintained its distance throughout the game eventually taking a 67-48 lead after a 19-7 run with 5:05 left in the third quarter.

“We have made a lot of sacrifices in the last few weeks because we went down 0-2 and I know it’s hard to climb back from that because most of the teams are focused,” said Beermen head coach Leo Austria.

“I have to commend the players because despite the holidays they are always present in practice.”

Brandon Brown finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals to lead the Beermen while Terrence Romeo also had 23 points on top of his four rebounds and two steals.

CJ Perez also finished in double digits for San Miguel with 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Vic Manuel added 14 points, five rebounds, and eight assists off the bench.

Juami Tiongson finished with 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists, for the Dyip who played without former San Miguel star Alex Cabagnot.

The 39-year-old point guard, nine titles with the Beermen, suffered a torn Achilles tendon on December 18 against NLEX.
