JENG Bualee delivered another fantastic effort as San Sebastian turned back National University, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-21, yesterday to claim the last semifinal berth in the Shakey’s V-League at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
The Thai reinforcement powered the Lady Stags’ comeback from a set down with 33 points, just a couple of days after she sizzled with a season-high 37.
The Lady Stags completed the Final Four cast with a 4-2 record, joining league leaders Ateneo
(7-0), University of Santo Tomas (5-1) and Perpetual Help (4-2).
The Tigresses grabbed solo second with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-20 triumph over the Lady Altas in the second game.
Mary Jean Balse recorded five blocks in a 12-point production to help the Tigresses rise from their first loss against unbeaten Ateneo last Sunday.
Thai Utaiwan Kaensing and Judy Caballejo also shared scoring honors for UST with 12 each.
“Compared to our last game against Ateneo, we lessened our unforced errors in this game,” said UST coach Odjie Mamon. With reports from Rodolfo Lozada and Jan Ballesteros
