CSB steals win from Adamson in Filoil Preaseason Cup

MANILA, Philippines – College of St. Benilde showed great resolve down the stretch to steal a 71-66 win over Adamson Wednesday in the 2012 FilOil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup at the Arena in San Juan.

Center Robert Bartolo had team-highs in points in rebounds with 17 and nine.

Bartolo scored a go-ahead basket that put CSB ahead, 67-66, with under a minute left to complete St. Benilde comeback from five points down in crunchtime.

Eric Camson completed a three-point play that gave the Falcons breathing space, 66-61, with only 1:50 left.

But with crucial turnovers and misses, Adamson, which even led by eight in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, just couldn’t hold on to its lead.

Both squads now have identical 2-4 records.

Carlo Lastimosa showed the different facets of his game with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
