Denver Nuggets forward Bol Bol underwent surgery on his right foot on Tuesday.
The Nuggets said Bol will be sidelined indefinitely. The procedure was performed in New York.
The surgery comes less than a week after the Detroit Pistons voided a trade in which they were to acquire Bol from Denver. The Pistons cited concerns over Bol’s physical.
Rodney McGruder and a second-round pick were slated to go to the Nuggets in the deal.
Bol is averaging 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14 games for Denver this season.
The 22-year-old has career averages of 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 53 games over parts of three NBA seasons with the Nuggets.
He is the son of the late Manute Bol, the 7-foot-7 shot-blocking force who played 10 NBA seasons.
