Letran trounces skidding Mapua in Filoil Preseason Cup
MANILA, Philippines – Letran dumped skidding Mapua, 79-55, Friday in the 2012 Filoil Flying V Pre-Season Cup at the Arena in San Juan.
Starting guard Mark Cruz finished with 27 points and added five rebounds and three steals for the Knights fourth victory, which puts them in a prime position to enter the quarterfinals.
Letran turned a close contest into a rout in the second half, pushing the struggling Cardinals to their third straight setback.

Mapua, which lost a number of key players from last season, could not take care of the leather and turned it over 26 times compared to Letran’s 13.
Sophomore Josan Nimes had a 22-point effort but could not get solid back up from the rest of the Cardinals, who slid to a horrible 1-6 record.
