PAF fielding track aces
THE PHILIPPINE Air Force is fielding a strong athletics team in the ongoing Philippine National Games track and field championship in Dumaguete City.
Spearheaded by long-distance aces Eduardo Buenavista and Arniel Ferrera, the PAF team has joined forces with HyperSports Philippines sports management group headed by Vicente Sy in its bid to win the men’s Open championship.
The team also boasts of such names as Southeast Asian Games and National Open medalists Ano, Delicano, Lasangue, Margallo, Mas, Nieras, Perater, Sermona, Oberes, Marayag and Obiena.
Article continues after this advertisementThe contingent, which also draws from the talents in the UAAP and NCAA champions Herrida, Pido, Billones, Maulas, and Unso, will be further reinforced by collegiate track stars Macalinao and Ejercito, together with Filipino-Australian sprinter Andrew Pirie.
Mick Perez and Ralph Soguilon manage the team, which also enjoys the support of Ayala Land Inc. and Rep. Jocelyn Sy-Limkaichong of the first district of Negros Oriental.
The coaches accompanying the contingent are Bernard Buen, Randy Maluto, Ernie Candelario, Djundi Binas and Sam Goldberg.
