MANILA, Philippines—Chery Tiggo threw its full support as Dindin Santiago-Manabat takes her trade to the Thailand League and joins Mylene Paat at Nakhon Ratchasima.

Crossovers team manager Ronwald Dimaculangan said they don’t have any problems allowing their players to play abroad especially with the schedules of the Premier Volleyball League and the Thailand League not coinciding with each other.

Dimaculangan said that Nakhon Ratchasima is already familiar with Philippine clubs and the club communicated with Chery Tiggo professionally throughout the whole process.

“Of course we’re in full support of Dindin and Mylene,” said Dimaculangan in Filipino. “They have contracts with us but we allowed them to play abroad.”

“They reached out to us club to club, they didn’t directly communicate with the players. They reached out to us and our communication was professional.”

Dimaculangan added the Thai club also reached out to the Philippine National Volleyball Federation to make sure that there won’t be hiccups along the way.

Santiago-Manabat will feature for the first time in Thailand but will be suiting up for her third club overseas after she first played for the Toray Arrows and the Kurobe AquaFairies in the Japan V.League from 2018 to 2020.

The Crossover stars will stay in Thailand until March but can immediately join their mother team once the 2022 PVL Open Conference starts on March 16.

“The clubs already familiar with each other that’s why communication went off without a hitch and the Thais are very courteous when they asked us if they can sign our players.”
