MANILA—Running clinics have kicked off preparations for the 3rd Quezon City International Marathon (QCIM) set Dec. 4 under the supervision of the Executive Runners Club of the Philippines (Runnex).
The Apex-Milo running clinic, in cooperation with the Quezon City government, is held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday inside the Quezon Memorial Circle while the Discover the Joy of Running Series, in coordination with the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics, gets going every Sunday on the UP campus.
Runnex chair Rudy Fernandez said the clinics will help prepare participants, particularly those joining the 21K and 42K races, in the marathon.
Part of the QCIM’s advocacy is the promotion of road safety as the club’s contribution to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety.
Part of the run’s proceeds will be used to put up road safety billboards along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, the country’s longest and widest highway.
