Jerwin Ancajas continues title defense build up in Las Vegas

MANILA, Philippines—Jerwin Ancajas is ramping up his training ahead of his title match against Fernando Daniel Martinez with the Filipino now stationed at Capetillo Gym in Las Vegas.
Coach-manager Joven Jimenez said they left Los Angeles and arrived in Las Vegas on Sunday and has been training at Jorge Capetillo’s facility for three days.
Helping Ancajas in his 10th defense of the IBF super flyweight title are WBO intercontinental bantamweight champion Jonas Sultan, junior featherweight Jeo Santisima, and former boxer Michael Domingo.
“We arrived on Sunday and we’ve been training at Capetillo Gym for three days now,” said Jimenez.
Sultan will also serve as Ancajas’ main sparring partner.
Capetillo is also a respected figure in the sport as he’s the cutman of WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Apart from his responsibilities with Fury, Capetillo also trains former WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt and two-division titles Luis Nery.
Ancajas’ fight against Martinez will be his debut in Las Vegas and the Filipino is expected to push through with the unification bout versus WBO champion Kazuto Ioka in May.
