MANILA, Philippines—TNT survived a tit-for-tat affair to shut Meralco’s lights off, 21-19, and claim the first leg title of the 2022 PBA 3×3 season Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The game boiled down to a shootout between Almond Vosotros and Tonino Gonzaga but it was the Tropang Giga’s resident shooter who won the exchange.

Gonzaga hit first to tie the game at 17-17 with 1:33 left but it was Vosotros who landed the deciding haymaker as he knocked down the title-clinching long ball with 1:12 remaining.

The first leg championship was TNT’s second overall title after it won the opening weekend of the 2021 season.

Coincidentally, the Bolts were also the Tropang Giga’s opponents in the finals of the PBA 3×3’s first-ever leg in 2021.

Barangay Ginebra took third place after it held off 2021 grand champion Limitless, 21-17.
