MANILA, Philippines—NorthPort continued its hot form and took down Blackwater, 116-103, for its fourth straight win to stay in the playoff hunt in the 2021-22 PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Batang Pier, who started the conference at 0-5, improved to 4-5 to tie Phoenix at the eighth spot while the Bossing remain winless this tournament with 0-9 card.
Head coach Pido Jarencio relied on a shortened rotation but his scheme worked out in the end as his starters all scored in double figures with three of them breaching the 20-point mark.

NorthPort’s core did most of its damage in the second quarter going on a 20-7 run with Jamie Malonzo’s three-point play giving his team a 66-54 lead with half-a-minute left in the first half.
“Everybody wants to win, everybody worked hard for this fourth straight win,” said Jarencio in Filipino. “Everyone did his share and everyone’s helping.”
Robert Bolick made his return from the national team with a team-high 30 points with 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals while Jamil Artis added 26 points, five boards, and nine assists.
Arwind Santos pitched in his own double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Shawn Glover had a game-high 47 points with 12 rebounds to lead the Bossing.
