San Miguel claims first PBA 3×3 title with win over Ginebra
MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel claimed its first PBA 3×3 title after turning back Barangay Ginebra, 21-15, in the finals of the tournament’s second leg Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen built an early 14-4 lead after Ken Bono set up a Moncrief Rogado two-pointer.
The Gin Kings mounted a late comeback getting to within four, 19-15, after Encho Serrano drilled a jumper but it was San Miguel’s title to take.
But Jeff Manday quickly countered Serrano’s jumper with his own and Bacon Austria finished things off with a layup with 2:12 to spare.
