MANILA, Philippines—Ateneo will open the UAAP Season 84 Cheerdance Competition festivities while eight-time winner University of Santo Tomas performing as closer, according to the order of performances posted by several coaches Thursday.

Ghicka Bernabe, National University head coach, first posted the order of participants on her Facebook page while Mark Chaiwalla, Salinggawi dance troupe head coach, also shared the list on his Twitter page.

UAAP, which returns March 26, has not yet posted an official announcement regarding the order of performances. Schedule has also not been released.

Defending champion NU Pep Squad is second on the order of participants with University of the Philippines and two-time winner Far Eastern University performing third and fourth, respectively.

Adamson University, which had a stunning win in 2017, will perform fifth with De La Salle going sixth and University of the East taking the stage at seventh.

While UST and UP hold the most championships at eight, it’s NU that has been the most dominant dance troupe in the past decade winning six titles from 2013 to 2019.

The UP Pep Squad last won the title in 2012 while the Salinggawi Dance Troupe go further back winning their eighth championship in 2006.

This will be the first time since 2019 that the UAAP will hold its Cheerdance Competition after the COVID-19 pandemic halted the exhibition in 2020 and 2021.
