Ateneo cruises past Perpetual Help for finals berth in Shakey’s V-League

MANILA, Philippines – Ateneo reasserted its mastery over Perpetual Help, 25-23, 25-11, 25-23, and cruised anew to the finals of the 9th Shakey’s V-League Tuesday at the Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles swept the Lady Altas in the best-of-three semifinals to troop to the finals for the third time since joining the league.

Guest players Phee Nok Kesinee and Suzanne Roces combined for 27 points for Ateneo, which awaits the winner of the University of Santo Tomas-San Sebastian clash.

Pornpimol Kunbang, Perpetual Help’s power-spiking Thai guest player, was held to just seven points while veteran April Sartin lead on a losing cause with 13 points.
