MANILA, Philippines—Rio Olympian Charly Suarez scored a late stoppage over Tomjune Mangubat to claim the vacant WBA Asia super featherweight title on Saturday at Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.

Suarez unleashed a flurry of punches against a defenseless Mangubat, forcing the referee to stop the fight in the 12th round of the main event.

The 33-year-old Suarez improved his record to 10-0 with seven knockouts.

In the co-featured bout, Carl Jammes Martin overcame an early knockdown to beat Ronnie Baldonado via technical knockout.

Martin, the rising Ifugao native, won the vacant WBA Asia super bantamweight crown and retained his Philippine super bantamweight belt.

The 22-year-old Martin, the latest Filipino to sign with Probellum after champions Nonito Donaire and Donnie Nietes, upped his mark to 19-0, 16KOs.
