Foreign boxers ready for Pinoy Pride fighters

THE FOREIGN invaders have landed and are ready to tangle with their Filipino counterparts in the featured bouts of Pinoy Pride 14 at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on June 2.

Mexican challenger Felipe Salguero, who is seeking Donnie “Ahas” Nietes’ World Boxing Organization light flyweight crown, arrived Sunday with trainer Conrado Guerrero Siqueiros and Pedro Mora Corrales, compatriot Genaro Garcia and their respective teams.

Colombian Jesus Geles flew in Monday night.

The unpredictable Salguero (16-2, 11 KOs) is fighting in his first world title bout and is challenging the 30-year-old Nietes in the 12-round main event.

Geles battles world-rated flyweight contender Milan Melindo for the WBO international fly championship, while Garcia (38-8, 22 KOs) takes on Genesis Servania for the World Boxing Council international silver super bantam title.
