MANILA, Philippines – One fighter is looking to regain his place in the queue to fight for ONE’s strawweight title, while the other hopes to finally join that formidable lot. Both, however, are flying the same flag.

Lito Adiwang and Jeremy Miado are set to lock horns in the opening leg of the promotion’s 10th-year anniversary showcase this Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium with both Filipino fighters promising fireworks.

“My mindset in this fight is no matter how explosive, how strong you are, I’ll come in ready for you,” Adiwang told the Inquirer.

“I know he’s talented, skilled, and competitive. But I will need to overcome him. I’ll have to because I want to get back high in the rankings,” he went on.

Miado was a tad bolder. And understandably so, Team Lakay has long had a stranglehold on the weight class, and as a rising contender, the Bicolano is raring to get a share of the spotlight.

“Knockout or technical knockout,” he said in a media availability ahead of the three-part ONE X. “This will be interesting. I’m going for that performance bonus.”

The fight is shaping up as a riveting display of immense striking power. Adiwang has made his striking in his journey from the promotion’s developmental circuit all the way to the main roster, while Miado has been training out of Marrok Force in Thailand which specializes in Muay Thai.

It is worth noting, however, that Adiwang will be coming into the duel a bit more desperate, considering the stunning loss he suffered from former UFC standout and now No. 2-ranked contender Jarred Brooks.

“I hated my performance (in that fight),” he said. “I couldn’t review that match. I can’t finish watching it, because I know I have so much that I could have done.”

Miado, for his part, knows what he is up against. But he is determined to show what exactly he could bring to the table.

“I want to show what I’m capable of,” he said. “I want to show everyone my level.”
