MANILA, Philippines–Jeo Ambohot towered over just about everyone to lead Letran in a 96-67 blowout of Arellano Wednesday and a second straight victory in the NCAA Season 97 men’s basketball at La Salle Greenhills Gym.
The 6-foot-7 Ambohot, the holdover centre for the Knights, had a breakout game, unloading 20 points for the Knights who afforded to shuffle their roster against the crippled Chiefs. He added eight rebounds and three assists.
“We helped each other and that’s our goal. It’s good that we started strong. We will continue to do our best,” Ambohot in Filipino. “Our hard-work is paying off.”
The Chiefs missed the services of slot man and top scorer Justin Arana — their supposed to be their counterbalance against Ambohot — who hurt his knee during their opening game last week. They fell to 1-1.
Letran’s 13 players all got to see action and only two of them were not able to score including Season 95 MVP Fran Yu.
Tommy Olivario and Rhenz Olivario chipped in 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Letran.
