MANILA, Philippines — Jaja Santiago ended her fourth Japan V.League season as the league’s top blocker after leading Saitama to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-12 victory over Himeji on Sunday at Wink Gymnasium.

Santiago delivered 12 points off 10 attacks, one block and an ace to finish the Ageo Medics’ season on a high note, placing fifth with a 20-13 card.

The 6-foot-5 middle blocker finished the season with the most blocks at 103, averaging 0.81 per set.

Brazilian import Lorenne Teixeira led Saitama’s final win of the season with 17 points built on 15 attacks and two blocks. 

Yuka Sato delivered 13 points, while Mami Uchiseto added 12 to end their 2021-22 stint.

Himeji placed 11th out of 12 teams with an 8-25 record. Celeste Plak led the team with 13 points, while Chihiro Sasaki had 10.
