MANILA, Philippines — Bobby Ray Parks Jr. was limited to four points but Takumi Saito delivered the game-winning lay-up as Nagoya edged Osaka, 89-87, in Japan B.League on Wednesday at Dolphins’ Arena.
Saito scored the go-ahead lay-up in the last five seconds and finished with 18 points and seven rebounds as the Diamond Dolphins improved to 26-12 to keep themselves in the top eight.
Parks shot two of his five shots and grabbed a rebound and one steal in 22 minutes of play, while Scott Eatherton powered Nagoya with 19 points and eight boards.
Meanwhile, Kiefer Ravena scored 16 points on top of four assists and one rebound but Shiga Lakestars absorbed their 16th straight defeat at the hands of the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 92-73, at Ukaruchan Arena.
Novar Gadson carried Shiga with 22 points, nine rebounds and three assists as Shiga fell to 10-33.
Thirdy and the San-En NeoPhoenix also succumbed to the Ryukyu Golden Kings, 92-69, at Okinawa Arena.
The younger Ravena had seven points, three rebounds, and three assists from the bench. Elias Harris fired 31 points only for San-En to drop its sixth straight loss, sliding to 8-37.
Kobe Paras and the Niigata Albirex BB like reeled to their 10th straight loss after a 86-76 defeat to Yokohama B-Corsairs at Tokkei Security Hiratsuka General Gymnasium.
Paras was held to five points, one rebound and an assist as Niigata continued to reel at the bottom of the standings with a 5-39 record.
