Gilas Pilipinas begins SEA Games build-up

MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas has started its training for the 31st Southeast Asian Games on May 12-23 in Hanoi, Vietnam. 

The Philippine men’s basketball team coach Chot Reyes on Wednesday posted clips of their team practice at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center inside Ateneo’s campus on his Instagram.

San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo and Mo Tautuaa, Terrafirma’s Isaac Go, NLEX’s Kevin Alas, North Port’s Robert Bolick, and TNT’s Troy Rosario and Kib Montalbo were seen in Reyes’ video clips.

Cadets William Navarro and Lebron Lopez as well as 16-year-old Caelum Harris were also present.

Thirdy Ravena and Dwight Ramos are also part of the SEA Games roster but they are still with their Japanese club teams in the ongoing B.League.

The Philippines has ruled 18 of the past 20 editions of the SEA Games men’s basketball including a 2019 title run with a roster composed of PBA stars under coach Tim Cone in front of the Filipino crowd at Mall of Asia Arena.
