MANILA, Philippines—Alex Eala is hitting her stride just in time for her national team stint in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Filipino tennis ace soared to new heights with a new career-high in the WTA rankings at No. 411.
Eala’s huge leap was largely due to her first W25 title in Chiang Rai, Thailand recently.
Her previous career-high was at No. 505 back in August 2021.
The 16-year-old Eala ranked 576 earlier this month.
She recently made the quarterfinals before getting the boot in the second leg of Chiang Rai tilt.
