MANILA, Philippines–Deschon Winston uncorked a career-high 33 points as La Salle drubbed University of Santo Tomas, 112-83 Tuesday in the NCAA Season 84 men’s basketball at Mall of Asia Arena.

The 6-foot-4 guard from Los Angeles was unstoppable all over the court and didn’t have play in the fourth quarter as the Archers cruised their way to their sixth win in nine games.

“It was a total team effort for us today” said La Salle coach Derick Pumaren. “We were able to execute. Deschon really shot well today. The only guy who was able to stop him was me because I took him out.”

Lacking in depth in all positions, the Tigers failed to get a foothold all day and fell to a 3-6 record putting their Final Four hopes in danger.

From just a 12-point deficit at the half, 58-46, La Salle pulled away on account of the frizzy, frosty-haired Winston who scored nine points in the same stretch to suddenly give the Archers a 74-49 lead that only grew bigger from there.
