MANILA, Philippines–Adamson improved its chances of making the next round after beating University of Santo Tomas, 80-69, Saturday extending its winning streak to four in the UAAP Season 84 men’s basketball at Mall of Asia Arena.

From a narrow 41-40 lead at the half, the Falcons tightened their defense and limited the Tigers’ scoring options to nail their fifth win in 11 games.

Jerom Lastimosa scored a career-high 24 points, 13 in the first quarter, for the Falcons who had 11 steals in the first three quarters against the Tigers’ two to transform an otherwise tight game into a lopsided affair.

Adamson is set to face heavyweights Ateneo, La Salle and winless University of East in their remaining games, needing all the win it could muster to get into the next round.

At 3-8, UST mathematically still has a chance of making it but the road ahead is littered with tough teams National University, University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University.
