MANILA, Philippines–National University halted its four-game losing streak following a 73-60 victory over University of Santo Tomas late Tuesday in the UAAP Season 84 men’s basketball at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Bulldogs revived their hopes for the next round with their fifth win in 12 games, tying Adamson at fifth place. The Tigers absorbed their fourth consecutive defeat for 3-9 which ended their chances of making it to the next round.

“Good win for us,” said NU coach Jeff Napa. “We’re hoping we could translate this against UE on Thursday. Our mindset is one game at a time.”

Reylan Torres scored 18 points, while Mike Malonzo had 11 points for the Bulldogs who led by as much as 63-38 until they coasted along late in the fourth quarter.
