MANILA, Philippines — Bobby Ray Parks Jr. hardly made an impact but it was enough for Nagoya to stretch its winning streak to five games after beating Shinshu, 86-64, in Japan B.League on Wednesday at Kotobuki Arena Chikuma.
Parks was limited to four points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists as the playoff-bound Diamond Dolphins improved to 31-13.
Scott Eatherton showed the way for Nagoya with 19 points, 10 boards, and four assists as Takumi Saito chipped in 14 points and eight assists.
Filipino Matthew Aquino was scoreless in his one-minute and 57-second of action for the Brave Warriors, who drew 17 points from Wayne Marshall as they fell to a 23-26 record.
Meanwhile, Javi Gomez de Liano had three points as Ibaraki Robots regained their winning ways with a 84-78 conquest over the Akita Northern Happinets in overtime at CNA Arena Akita.
Eric Jacobsen led the Robots with 26 points and 12 rebounds to end their two-game skid and improve to 15-34.
However, the other Filipino imports’ efforts went for naught.
Dwight Ramos delivered 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists only as Toyama Grouses yielded to Shimane Susanoo Magic, 87-80, at Matsue City Gymnasium.
Toyama’s two-game winning streak got snapped, sliding to 22-33. Brice Johnson and Naoki Uto had 16 points each.
Kiefer Ravena displayed an all-around effort with 15 points, seven assists and four rebounds only for the Shiga Lakestars to absorb a 103-87 defeat to SeaHorses Mikawa at Ukaruchan Arena.
Novar Gadson lifted Shiga with 32 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Sean O’Mara added 25 points and nine boards but their team dropped to 14-38.
Thirdy Ravena unloaded 11 points and five rebounds off the bench in San-En NeoPhoenix’s 79-69 loss to Gunma Crane Thunders at Ota City Sports Park Citizen Gymnasium.
Besides the younger Ravena, Justin Knox led the NeoPhoenix with 18 points, five rebounds, and two steals in their fourth consecutive defeat, falling to 10-43.
Kobe Paras had a scoreless night as Niigata Albirex BB absorbed its 13th straight loss at the hands of Utsunomiya Brex, 95-50, at City Hall Plaza Aore Nagaoka.
Rosco Allen was again the lone bright spot for Niigata with 11 points and nine rebounds in another blowout loss, sliding to a 5-42 card.
