MANILA, Philippines—Alyssa Valdez and other volleyball stars attended the “Ang Atleta” event on Tuesday, showing their full support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo in the May 9 election.

Valdez’s fellow Ateneo standouts Deanna Wong, Maddie Madayag and Bea De Leon were among those who showed up at  Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“To the voters who are still undecided, I ask you guys to do your part. Let’s do our research, background checks.”

A pair of exhibition matches were among the highlights of the event.

Cheerleaders from various universities and colleges also provided entertainment before a predominantly pink-clad crowd.

Robredo’s daughter Tricia was also present as well as PBA champion head coach Yeng Guiao, who has been vocal about his support for the incumbent Vice President.
