B.League: Kobe Paras helps Niigata snap 14-game losing streak

MANILA, Philippines — Kobe Paras sparked the Niigata Albirex BB to snap their 14-game skid after beating Osaka Evessa, 73-66, in Japan B.League on Wednesday at Ikeda City Satsukiyama Gymnasium.

Paras delivered 10 points including two three-pointers to go with five rebounds and two assists as Niigata finally ended its slump and improved to a 6-44 record.

Yuto Nohmi led the way, firing five triples for 19 points, eight assists, four rebounds and two steals. Zen Endo chipped in 16 points and nine boards off the bench, while Jeff Ayres put up 14 points, 24 boards and four blocks.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. sat out for the third straight game but Nagoya edged Kiefer Ravena and Shiga, 79-77, at Ukaruchan Arena.

Tatsuya Ito drilled the game-winning floater in the final minute and finished 10 points for the Diamond Dolphins to spoil Ravena’s 19-point effort.

Yusuke Karino chimed in with 16 points as the playoff-bound Nagoya rose to a 33-14 record.

Ravena also dished out eight assists, four rebounds and four steals as the Lakestars absorbed their fourth straight loss and slid to a 14-41 card.

Sean O’Mara led Shiga with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Novar Gadson added 19 points, 10 boards, and six assists in another loss.

Meanwhile, Thirdy Ravena wasn’t also fortunate as San-En NeoPhoenix fell to Levanga Hokkaido, 97-89, at Hokkai Kitayell.

The younger Ravena had 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Elias Harris lifted San-En with 28 points and eight rebounds, while Kazuma Tsuya added 19 markers in their third straight loss, dropping to 10-46.

Javi Gomez de Liano delivered eight points, two rebounds and two assists but the Ibaraki Robots yielded to SeaHorses Mikawa, 110-98, at Adastria Mito Arena.

Daichi Taniguchi carried Ibaraki with 20 points including six treys as they slid to a 15-37 record before wrapping up their season at home against the Gunma Crane Thunders this weekend.
