MANILA, Philippines—Petron Blaze took the fight out of Alaska and chalked up a 107-94 triumph Sunday night in the 2012 PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Eddie Basden spearheaded the team effort with 29 markers, two rebounds, five assists, four steals and block even as all but two Boosters contributed in the scoring.
Petron Blaze padded on to its lead slowly but surely in the second half and it ballooned to as huge as 22 points on a triple from Arwind Santos.
The Boosters cruised to their third victory in this short conference while the Aces absorbed their third loss, both in four outings.
Alaska, which has erstwhile-assistant coach Luigi at helm this conference, just could not get its bearings going as it trailed since late in the opening period and never recovered.
Import Jason Forte struggled with just 16 points but still collected 15 rebounds.
