SEA Games: Elreen Ando gets weightlifting silver anew

HANOI – Filipino Olympian Elreen Ando settled for the women’s weightlifting 64kg silver after yielding to the Vietnamese defending champion Saturday in the 31st Southeast Asian Games here.
Ando engaged in a showdown with Thi Hong Thanh Pham but the hometown bet ended up taking the gold after 104kg in snatch, 126kg in clean and jerk for 230kg total.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Cebu-native finished 2nd with 103kg in snatch and 120 in clean and jerk for 223kg total.
Indonesia’s Rabathani Tsabitha wound up third with lifts of 100kg-116kg for 216kg total.
