MANILA, Philippines–Sibol delivered two more silver medals for the Philippines in esports as the 31st Southeast Asian Games came to a close on Sunday.

The Nationals bowed to Vietnam in both the League of Legends and CrossFire events in the showcase at National Convention Center in Hanoi.

West Point Esports, composed of Andre “Calumnia” Soriano, Emmanuel “yjyyyyyyyyyy” Tapang, Edward “Creshowo” Hortizuela, Raphael “RVL8” Retance, Elijah “ParzivaI” Canlas and Van “Vansu” Alfonso found themselves at the nasty end of a 3-0 rout at the hands of the hosts.

The Pacific Macta squad of Dennis “ZDD” Ramos Jr, Aldrin “Aldrin” Borabon, John Kenneth “zYK” Alde, Matthew “EL1” Arnaez, and Christian “Revenge” Amorea also wound up listless in three games against the Vietnamese.

Meanwhile, Sibol’s PUBG bets in the team competition fell short of a podium finish.

The Philippines thus ends its campaign with two golds and two silvers, yielding its overall championship to the hosts who finished at the bottom of the six-nation field in the last edition of the biennial meet.

The pair of golds were courtesy of Blacklist International (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang), and GrindSky Eris (Wild Rift, women’s team).

It could be recalled that Sibol head coach Ralph Llabares promised a better medal haul in this year’s SEA Games.
