University of Santo Tomas bucked a two-set deficit to turn back Adamson, 24-26, 20-25, 25-21, 25-23. 15-12, on Thursday and continue its winning streak in the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball at Mall of Asia Arena.
Eya Laure came off slow but poured four of her 21 points in the fifth set including a block that highlighted the Tigresses’ defensive stops in the endgame.
It was the Tigresses’ third straight win which hiked their record to 6-2 while inflicting the Lady Falcons their fourth defeat in eight matches.
Adamson caught UST napping in the first match of the second round and was well on its way to an upset, leading 15-14 in the third set.
But Laure, the league’s best scorer, touched off a mid-set rally that turned the tables for the Tigresses who repeated over the Lady Falcons this season.
Adamson took a 12-11 lead in the fifth for its last stand before KC Galdones scored on a block to tie it for UST. The Tigresses then continued to flex their muscles at the net, swatting enemy attempts to ice the match.
Camille Victoria added 16, while Ysabel Jimenez chipped in 13 for the Tigresses.
