MANILA, Philippines—Defending champion Ateneo got back at University of Santo Tomas with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 victory on Tuesday for its fifth win in the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Eagles avenged their four-set defeat to the Tigresses in the first round by halting UST’s four-game winning streak.

Faith Nisperos led Ateneo with 18 points while Vanessa Gandler and Joan Narit added 12 and 11 points, respectively as the Lady Eagles improved to 5-5.

Eya Laure, who lit up the Lady Eagles with 31 points in their first meeting, was held to 14 points as the Tigresses fell to 7-3.
