San Beda breezes through to Filoil semis
MANILA, Philippines—San Beda kept its clean slate as it breezed through to the semifinals of the 2012 Filoil Pre-Season Cup past St. Benilde, 80-41, Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan city.
The Red Lions, with a pristine record of 9-0, did not pull their punches even after a whopping halftime lead and worked to make it as huge as 42 points just before the final buzzer.
Ola Adeogun poured all but four of his total 18 points in the first half – nearly outscoring the entire Blazers lineup – while Baser Amer added 13 points, five rebounds and six assists.

The Blazers, who had a decent 4-5 card to conclude the tournament, barely put up a fight as they scored just four measly points in the opening quarter compared to the Red Lions’ 22.
Carlo Lastimosa had 12 points while Paolo Taha added 11 for St. Benilde, which was sorely outrebounded, 47-26, and could only come up with seven assists.
