PBA: Jojo Lastimosa assumes role of TNT team manager

MANILA, Philippines—PBA legend Jojo Lastimosa has left NLEX as its assistant coach to become the new team manager of TNT.

Lastimosa served as an assistant coach for the Road Warriors since 2014.

“We gave him (Lastimosa) our blessing since it’s a personal advancement for him,” said NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao in a statement on Monday.

TNT veteran Kelly Williams welcomed Lastimosa at TNT in practice on Tuesday.

“Finally get to work alongside the Legend, Mr. Clutch, Jojo Lastimosa!” Williams posted on social media.

The Road Warriors have yet to find a replacement for Lastimosa.

Lastimosa, who won 10 PBA titles as a player including a Grand Slam with Alaska in 1996, replaced Gabby Cui at TNT.

The 58-year-old Lastimosa, who was Rookie of the Year in 1998, also won three championships as an assistant at Alaska.
