MANILA, Philippines—Bobby Mark Parks has committed to National University for UAAP Season 86.

The 21-year-old will take his residency in Season 85, which opens in September. He will be eligible next year and will have three playing years.

Parks is the younger brother of Bobby Ray Parks Jr., a former Bulldog who played in the UAAP from 2011 to 2013 and won back-to-back MVPs in Seasons 74 and 75.

NU coach Jeff Napa confirmed the development and thanked Mark’s skills coach Jo Gotanco for helping them in recruiting the Filipino-American guard.

Napa insisted that Mark just has to play his game and not worry about the pressure of following the footsteps of his brother Ray, who recently signed an extension with Nagoya in the Japan B.League.

“Sakto ang pagpasok niya kasi mawawala na sa amin sina JLC nun (Once he comes in we won’t have senior players like John Lloyd Clemente),” said the Bulldogs coach. “We expect him to just play his game, without pressure as Ray’s brother.”

The 6-foot-5 guard played for Waubonsee College Division 1 in Illinois.
