MANILA, Philippines — Bryan Bagunas bid farewell to Oita Miyoshi after three years.

The Philippine men’s volleyball team star is set to enter free agency as he expressed his gratitude to the club that brought him to Japan V.League after he graduated from National University in 2019.

“Thank you, Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, for the 3 years of trusting me and for the opportunity that you have given to me. It is an honor to be in this team, and I am very proud to be a part of it,” Bagunas wrote on Instagram.

“I will bring the knowledge I’ve learned wherever I’ll play next season. Also, thank you to the people involved and fans who supported me during my 3 years of playing in Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler,” he added.

The Weisse Adler also announced the departures of the Filipino import, Emerson Rodriguez and Sonae Kazuma.

”Both Emerson and Bagunas contributed to the team as a scoring source for Oita Miyoshi,” the team wrote on Tuesday. “Both players were loved by fans and teams because of their lovely personalities that didn’t make them feel different. We look forward to the future success of the three people.”

Bagunas was Oita Miyoshi’s leading scorer after they finished with a 6-30 record in the 2021-22 season.

The former UAAP MVP kept the Weisse Adler in Division 1 with a 32-point explosion to torch Fujitsu, 29-27, 25-21, 34-36, 25-19, in the relegation stage last April.
