PAF-HyperSports aces shine
Veteran tracksters of the PAF-HyperSports team ran roughshod over the opposition by delivering six gold, seven silver and bronze medals in the recent Philippine National Games in Dumaguete City.
Long-distance aces Julius Sermona, 32, and Eduardo Buenavista, 33, ruled the 10,000-meter and 5,000m runs in 31:09 and 15:11, respectively, to lead the winners.
The other gold medalists were Southeast Asian Games champions Arniel Ferrera in hammer throw (55.48m) and discus throw (41.83m), Joebert Delicano in triple jump (15.18m), and Emerson Obiena in pole vault (4.1m).
Article continues after this advertisementBagging the silver were Nixon Mas (shot put and discus throw), Wenlie Maulas (800m), Romnick Herrida (100m), Benigno Marayag (long jump), Gustel Pido (javelin), and Julius Sermona (5,000m).
The Air Force team was also backed by Vicente Sy, Ayala Land Inc., Dumaguete Rep. Josy Sy and corporate executive Jim Lafferty.
