Alyanna Nicole Ong starred with 21 points as Mapua outlasted Perpetual, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 13-25, 15-12, Friday to score its third win in the NCAA Season 97 women’s volleyball at Paco Arena in Manila.

Of her total points, the rookie middle blocker made eight kill-blocks to dominate the position as the Lady Cardinals improved their record to 3-1. Jonina Fernandez helped Mapua with a 12 markers.

The Lady Altas failed to sustain the momentum of their first set win and the lopsided fourth period. They raced from 6-10 to 10-all through Hannah Suico.

But there was no stopping Mapua which made a counter-rally highlighted with Ong’s tip-in off an over-received to deal Perpetual’s second defeat in four matches.
